2025 Year in Review
2025 has been a great year for Transportation Planning in Sacramento. We close out 2025 with a big win for active transportation in the City of Sacramento with the unanimous adoption of the Streets for People Plan.
With your help and input, we continued work on several plans Including the Vision Zero Action Plan Update, The Norwood Mobility Project, and the Connecting Howe Avenue Safety and Mobility Plan. These projects will wrap up in the first half of 2026.
In summer we kicked off two new corridor plans to increase safety and create more options for walking and biking. The Arden-Auburn Mobility Project and the Fruitridge Road Safety and Mobility Plan. Stay tuned for the launch of the project websites and the first phase of engagement in early 2026.
We also applied for about $500,000 in competitive grant funding to develop a Citywide Transit Plan to identify our transit needs and steps needed to make those improvements.
In 2025 we joined our engineering partners and Vice Mayor Talamantes to cut the ribbon on the the Niños Parkway extension.
Our plans established this effort. The addition of this half-mile long shared-use path continues the Niños Parkway from San Juan Road to the Parkebridge Neighborhood, creating almost two miles of comfortable, low stress shared use path through South Natomas. The project will complete a shared use path linking residential neighborhoods to neighborhood schools.
While we are planners, it’s not all plans.
We relaunched the Urban Biking and Scooting 101 Class. Through this class, participants learn about the rules of the road, safety tips, and best practices for navigating city streets on bikes and scooters.
Classes are FREE and held on the second Tuesday of the month.
