Grenada’s dedication to combating transnational threats—such as drug trafficking and illegal migration—remains critical to regional security. Through our cooperation under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, the United States and Grenada are working to disrupt criminal networks that threaten stability and economic progress. Our nations recognize the importance of countering malign influence, including the destabilizing tactics of the Chinese Communist Party,as a means of protecting democratic values and its national sovereignty. We look forward to continued collaboration across shared priorities, which will support both of our peoples. As you rebuild from the destructive aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, the United States extends our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those lost in that tragedy. The United States wishes Grenada and all its people a very happy Independence Day.
