ITA Airways ITA Airways returns to London as Official Carrier of Travel Hashtag
Rome, 22nd February 2024 – ITA Airways, the Italian national carrier, is participating for the second year in the
British leg of Travel Hashtag, the traveling conference format promoting destination Italy and launching its
program of initiatives for 2024 from the capital of the United Kingdom.
In its role as Official Carrier, ITA Airways is among the main partners and protagonists of Travel Hashtag,
which in its fourteenth edition, has once again chosen the Meliá White House in the heart of London as its
location.
ITA Airways is joining the Travel Hashtag initiative to promote Italy and Made in Italy to leading travel agencies
and tour operators in the British market. The airline works at international level, together with tourism industry
players, which can count on its commitment to developing connectivity to and from Italy.
The United Kingdom is one of the most strategic markets for the ITA Airways thanks to the daily connections
between London and its reference hubs of Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate.
In the upcoming summer season, there will be 50 weekly frequencies (100 weekly flights) available for British
travelers to meet the significant demand in terms of business and leisure travel between the UK and Italy. In
detail, the Milan Linate – London City connection, a preferred route by business travelers and corporations as
it connects two main European financial hubs, will offer 31 weekly frequencies. The new Rome Fiumicino London City flight, operating from April 1st, will allow the Company to connect the two capitals with 12 weekly
frequencies. In addition, a new Rome Fiumicino – London Gatwick flight will be launched in June with 7 weekly
roundtrip flights. ITA Airways is also offering British customers and the Italian community convenient
connections to travel to its entire network, including Italian destinations, the Mediterranean, and major
intercontinental routes.
2024 confirms itself as a year of growth for the entire network of the Company which, thanks to the new
summer openings, will fly to 57 destinations, including 16 domestic, 26 international and 15 intercontinental.
North America, Africa and the Middle East will be the markets where ITA Airways will inaugurate direct flights
from its Rome Fiumicino hub. In detail, a new direct flight from Rome Fiumicino to Chicago will be launched
in April as well as direct connections to Toronto and Riyadh in May. In June, it will be the turn of nonstop
flights to Accra and Kuwait City, in July of the one to Dakar and in August to Jeddah.
In addition, during the summer peak, ITA Airways will add 10 seasonal connections, selected among the most
popular Mediterranean tourism destinations, including Greece, Spain, Croatia, and the Italian islands,
reachable through nonstop flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate. These are Rhodes, Ibiza, Palma
de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraklion, Corfu, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, as well as Split and Kefalonia operated only
from Rome Fiumicino.
