Remembering Niall: An Evening of Poetry and Film at the Teachers Club (7pm, 13th June)
This special evening of poetry and film brings some of London’s most prominent poets and artists to Dublin to celebrate the life of the late poet Niall McDevitt. After a series of events in his adopted city of London, there was an eagerness to celebrate Niall’s work and literary legacy in his native Dublin. North Circular: Film Screening, Music and Q&A (LightHouse Cinema, 6.30pm)
Atmospherically shot in black and white, North Circular travels the length of the eponymous road that links some of Dublin’s most beloved and infamous places. This magical journey is enriched with musical performances from local artists including John Francis Flynn, Séan Ó Túama, Eoghan O’Ceannabháin, Ian Lynch and Gemma Dunleavy.
This event screening in honour of Bloomsday features a live cello overture by the film's soundtrack composer Kevin Murphy pre-screening and a James Joyce themed panel conversation with director Luke McManus and special guests after the show.
This screening is presented by the Bloomsday Film Festival in collaboration with the Stoneybatter Festival. For further information and booking please follow the link below.
