** ACTRESS AND COMEDIAN EGO NWODIM WILL CO-CHAIR THE WHITNEY MUSEUM ANNUAL ART PARTY
————————————————————
The Dare will DJ the annual Art Party on January 27, 2026 as the Whitney Museum celebrates bold expression in art, style, and sound!
New York, NY, January 15, 2026 — The Whitney Museum of American Art is thrilled to welcome actress and comedian Ego Nwodim as co-chair of the annual Art Party on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. This year’s event will be headlined by a DJ set by The Dare. Hosted by the Museum’s Whitney Contemporaries membership group, Art Party (https://whitney.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=387f59a72ae7b64ccae37d5c9&id=f665685e39&e=59415c6e7e) is a celebrated cornerstone of New York’s arts and philanthropy calendar. Young patrons, emerging artists, and guests from the worlds of art, fashion, business, philanthropy, and entertainment are invited to sip crafted cocktails, enjoy passed bites, explore the Museum’s galleries after hours, and dance into the night. This year, bold style takes the spotlight; guests are encouraged to come dressed in their loudest prints and most vibrant patterns and celebrate bold expression in art, style, and sound.
Nwodim will join artists Martine Gutierrez and Emma Safir as Whitney Art Party co-chair, along with Whitney Contemporaries Steven Beltrani, Micaela Erlanger, and Alexander Hankin. The 2026 Whitney Art Party marks Erlanger’s 10th year as co-chair for the event and supporting the Museum.
“Celebrating a decade of co-chairing the Whitney Art Party feels deeply personal to me. I first partnered with the museum during its move to Gansevoort Street, and I had no idea then how meaningful this relationship would become,” said Erlanger. “Over the years, I’ve watched the Whitney—and this event—grow, evolve, and continually reflect the creative energy of New York. This city is always reinventing itself, and the Art Party has been one of my favorite places to witness that spirit come alive.”

From 8:30 pm to 12 am, guests will enjoy a night of dancing with DJ sets by Raúl de Nieves and The Dare, craft cocktails, and exclusive access to the Museum’s galleries. Drinks, music, and passed bites will be offered in the Museum’s lobby.
The evening is made possible by Aesop, Faena New York, Libertine, and Maestro Dobel® Tequila.

** ABOUT THE WHITNEY
————————————————————
The Whitney Museum of American Art, founded in 1930 by the artist and philanthropist Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney (1875–1942), houses the foremost collection of American art from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Mrs. Whitney, an early and ardent supporter of modern American art, nurtured groundbreaking artists when audiences were still largely preoccupied with the Old Masters. From her vision arose the Whitney Museum of American Art, which has been championing the most innovative art of the United States for ninety years. The core of the Whitney’s mission is to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit American art of our time and serve a wide variety of audiences in celebration of the complexity and diversity of art and culture in the United States. Through this mission and a steadfast commitment to artists, the Whitney has long been a powerful force in support of modern and contemporary art and continues to help define what is innovative and influential in American art today.
