City of Toronto kicks off Bike Month with Bike to Work Day group ride on June 4
On Wednesday, June 4, Mayor Olivia Chow and Toronto City Councillors will join local cyclists to kick off Bike Month, Toronto’s annual celebration of cycling, with the annual Bike to Work Day Group Commute to Nathan Phillips Square.
Cyclists can join the group ride departing from Ramsden Park at the corner of Yonge Street and Pears Avenue (https://maps.app.goo.gl/NtftVLuBo9Zk9ESx6) at 7:30 a.m. Cycle Toronto ride guides will help ensure riders stay on course and arrive safely.
A limited number of complimentary Bike Share Toronto bikes will be available at Ramsden Park. Sign-up for these bikes is required: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1r1OyRuX7QkLA7HcUnD0qK9sfUOVS5RchfLGb5vHraRM/viewform?edit_requested=true. Bike Share Toronto staff will be onsite at Nathan Phillips Square to collect bikes at the end of the ride.
The annual Bike to Work Day Group Commute is a joint event between the City of Toronto and Cycle Toronto, where people cycling meet up at Nathan Phillips Square for a community celebration with a pancake breakfast.
Bike Month encourages residents and visitors to explore the city by bike and promoting cycling as a healthy, sustainable and accessible mode of transportation.
