Youth work in war contexts in Ukraine – seminar in Strasbourg
7 and 9 December, Strasbourg (European Youth Centre) – The Council of Europe will bring together, from 5 to 10 December, over 30 youth workers and representatives of youth centres from various places of Ukraine to discuss youth work in the context of the ongoing war. They will notably focus on the response provided by youth work stakeholders, including humanitarian aid and youth services for internally displaced young people, as well as on the impact of the war on the activities of the youth centres and personal wellbeing of youth workers in Ukraine.
One of the aims of the seminar is to put the Ukrainian youth workers in contact with colleagues across Europe for professional exchanges and solidarity.
Media can follow the session about youth policy during wartime with Maryna Popatenko, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports of Ukraine (7 December, 2.30-3.30 pm) as well as the session about youth policy in Strasbourg with Véronique Bertholle, Deputy Mayor of the city (9 December, 9.30-10.30 am).

The agenda will also include a thematic session on money laundering and human trafficking and a discussion of MONEYVAL’s strategy for the period 2023-2027.
6 December, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 11 judgments concerning Armenia, Bulgarian Denmark, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Türkiye.
The rapporteurs will meet with the Minister of the Interior, the President of the Supreme Audit Office, the mayors of Bratislava and Tren?ín, the Public Defender of Rights and the Deputy General Prosecutor. Meetings are also planned with members of the national delegation of the Slovak Republic to the Congress, the President of the Association of Towns and Communities of Slovakia, representatives of the Union of Slovak Towns and Cities, as well as representatives of Bratislava and Tren?ín self-governing regions.
Press statements will be delivered at noon by Samir Rizvo, Assistant Minister and National Co-ordinator for combating trafficking in human beings and illegal migration, Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Karel Lizerot, Head of Section for justice and home affairs, migration and public administration reform, Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Elma Zahirovi?, Council of Europe Project Officer (Anti-Trafficking in Human Beings Division).
He will present the Congress work in support of women and young people in the thematic session on “Fighting Inequalities: regional solutions for empowering women and youth”.
8 December, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 15 judgments and/or decisions concerning the Czech Republic, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Romania, Türkiye and Ukraine.
