The City of Sacramento’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development is now accepting applications for the 2026 Innovation Grant Program, which provides $1 million in funding to organizations that support local entrepreneurs and start-up businesses.
The Sacramento Innovation Grant Program supports the development of Sacramento’s entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem through “startup enablers” – community-based initiatives and programs that help entrepreneurs take their ideas from concept to viable business. 

There are three grant opportunities available: 

Entrepreneur Education and Access Grants
Individual grants between $10,000 and $15,000
These grants fund workshops, training series, or open lab coaching sessions focused on specific topics that help entrepreneurs develop ideas and build business skills.

Incubator and Accelerator Grants
Individual grants between $50,000 and $100,000
These grants fund cohort-based incubator and accelerator programs that nurture early-stage businesses and drive innovation and economic growth in Sacramento.

Individual grants up to $100,000
These grants support programs that connect startups and tech businesses to funding opportunities, technology commercialization, and growth strategies.
