*We are changing how we send DfE emails and newsletters from January 2025*
This is a courtesy email to let you know that we are making some changes to how we send our DfE email updates.
These changes are to the behind-the-scenes mechanics, helping to improve coordination and functionality and hopefully will not cause any inconvenience.
*New email domain*
You will now receive emails from addresses ending in *@service.education.gov.uk* where you may have previously received them from addresses ending in @public.govdelivery.com. Please add this email domain to your safe senders list.
This is relevant to those who receive the DfE Sector Email, the DfE Teacher Bulletin and the Secretary of State’s emails, other DfE emails are already issued from this domain.
*If your contact details are held in the GIAS database*
If you receive our emails because your email address is held in the Get Information About Schools (GIAS) database [ https://get-information-schools.service.gov.uk/about?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] as a key contact for your setting, you may notice that the ‘unsubscribe’ button is no longer available.
This is to make sure that your establishment receives the information it needs from the government that we have a duty to share, including updates to statutory guidance, new policy decisions and funding information as well as opportunities, support and other useful resources.
It’s important that you keep your GIAS establishment record up to date [ https://get-information-schools.service.gov.uk/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] so that we can always contact you if needed.
*You may receive the same email twice *– if you or someone in your office has also subscribed to receive our newsletters using the same email address listed in GIAS, this may mean that in the short term you receive two versions of the same email while we work to de-duplicate these lists. We apologise if this happens, please disregard the second email.
