Community is key
Being part of a community often means having more reasons to celebrate. Maybe you raised a glass at a street party during the Platinum Jubilee, or will raise your voice in solidarity with LGBTQ+ Pride later this month.
Today we’re celebrating our community. Those of you who study side by side within our Reading Rooms, stand together appreciating treasured manuscripts in our exhibitions, or share new insights and ideas online. Our community not just at our homes in London or Yorkshire, but also across the globe. Here’s to you.

Obama or Osman?
In villages and towns across the UK public libraries can be a vital lifeline for those seeking escapism and discovery. Although, at times, libraries closed their doors during the pandemic, they continued to help people with information and inspiration, loaning audio and ebooks, as well as hard copy works throughout. But what was everyone reading over all those long months of lockdown? Every year we reveal the most popular titles borrowed from public libraries. Find out who topped the charts in our latest announcement…
