** XRP adds over 800,000 new addresses in H1 2025
————————————————————
That growth was split across both quarters: Q1 accounted for 528,997 new addresses, while Q2 added another 305,237. Yet the number of unique active addresses moved in the opposite direction, declining by 16,772 in Q1 and a further 12,708 in Q2.
By the end of the first half, just 26,807 XRP addresses were considered active, compared to 39,515 at the start of the year.
This disconnect, between wallet creation and on-chain activity points to a 42.2% decline in active addresses during H1 2025, even as XRP’s price has trended higher and institutional developments have gathered pace.
Still, that wasn’t enough to boost network usage. As Diana Paluteder, head of content at Finbold, explains:
“The fall in active addresses suggests that users aren’t yet convinced of XRP’s utility or value proposition, even as the legal risks fade. It’s a reminder that regulatory clarity doesn’t automatically lead to adoption.”
With over 800,000 new wallets added in just six months, XRP remains one of the most actively expanded blockchain ecosystems. But unless those new users become more engaged, questions around the quality and sustainability of its growth are likely to persist.
