Ennio Morricone, nello spazio AuditoriumArte, l’installazione della prima mostra personale di Alex Braga, “Automatic
Impermanence”
Automatic Impermanence è un’audace istantanea dei nostri tempi distopici, in cui l’intelligenza artificiale, la
tecnologia, gli esseri umani e il futuro sono al centro di una possibile nuova prospettiva per il domani, che vibra
ferocemente tra i confini della realizzazione o della distruzione e che sfida il pubblico a trovare “l’infinito entro i
confini finiti del nostro mondo”.
L’INTELLIGENZA ARTIFICIALE A-MINT
La musica e le immagini di Alex Braga cambiano leggermente ma continuamente, grazie al legame e alla relazione
tra l’artista umano e la sua AI A-MINT, che reagisce in tempo reale ed è influenzata dalle circostanze, dall’ambiente,
dalle emozioni del momento così come viene sperimentato da Braga. In ogni spettacolo, ogni suono e immagine
sono unici, ogni momento è unico, creato dall’artista ed aumentato da A-MINT, ogni istante in sequenza diventa un
modello per una vita infinita.
L’opera d’arte multimediale interattiva trasforma così l’esperienza dell’ascolto delle composizioni originali di Alex
Braga in un viaggio nell’impermanenza.
LA MUSICA, LE COLLABORAZIONI INTERNAZIONALI E UN NUOVO MODO DI CANTARE
I 9 capitoli da cui è formata l’opera, la cui musica è stata prodotta a Berlino da Robert Lippok insieme allo stesso
Braga e vanta il prezioso cameo della band di culto Chicks On Speed, sono dei portali per entrare in altrettanti
mondi, concetti, tematiche, problemi, riflessioni, dove gli spessi strati dei paesaggi sonori si fondono con la voce
dell’artista, che canta in maniera singolare testi molto concisi, storie o poesie o istantanee che ci aprono gli occhi, il
cuore e la mente su una nuova dimensione. La voce di Braga lavora anch’essa in sinergia con l’Intelligenza Artificiale
A-MINT alla ricerca spasmodica di sovrapposizioni di livelli che creano armonie inaspettate, impossibili, che
trascina l’ascoltatore sul crinale di una nuova frontiera.
SOSTENIBILITA’
Il progetto Automatic Impermanence conferma l’impegno decennale dell’artista nel lottare per un mondo più sano,
pulito e consapevole attraverso la musica, la cultura, la tecnologia e l’educazione: la prima performance live di
Automatic Impermanence è stata sottoposta a un’importante valutazione dell’impatto ambientale, che getta le basi
per il nuovo modello da implementare in tutti gli eventi live, segnando un altro passo fondamentale nella
collaborazione tra l’artista e la scienziata della sostenibilità Vienna Eleuteri, promossa dal programma
CONNECT4CLIMATE.
UNA IPOTESI DI NUOVO MODO DI DISTRIBUIRE LA MUSICA
Con Automatic Impermanence, inoltre, l’artista sta sperimentando con una serie di prestigiosi partner, tra cui il
Museo MACRO, un sistema diverso e più sostenibile per diffondere la musica e l’arte libera da etichette
discografiche e piattaforme di streaming: la musica non è in vendita, non è un prodotto, non è disponibile in siti e
piattaforme che sfruttano i dati e gli esseri umani come prodotti, perché questo crea una delle più forti forme di
inquinamento delle coscienze.
Automatic Impermanence è disponibile dal vivo, come installazione o performance, e sulle pochissime piattaforme
DECENTRALIZZATE del web che contribuiscono a creare un mondo digitale più consapevole invece che un mondo
di frustrazione e sfruttamento.
Con Automatic Impermanence Alex Braga chiude un cerchio che parte dai margini della tecnologia futuristica e
balza in avanti per trovare un nuovo inizio nell’unica soluzione possibile: la nostra umanità, o ciò che ne rimane, da
proteggere e promuovere con ogni sforzo possibile, per un nuovo Presente sostenibile.
ALEX BRAGA
Artista sperimentale, musicista, produttore e curatore, Alex Braga è un pioniere nel campo dell’intelligenza artificiale.
Con i professori Francesco Riganti e Antonino Laudani dell’Università RomaTre ha sviluppato A-MINT, un
ecosistema di intelligenza artificiale adattiva che lavora in tempo reale e interagisce con gli artisti sia sulla musica ma
anche sul video grazie al codice aggiuntivo del ricercatore Lorenzo Sabino.
La ricerca di Braga sull’ Intelligenza Artificiale ha contribuito in modo significativo a stimolare il dialogo sul dibattito
tra esseri umani e macchine e sul dilemma etico tra deep learning, data mining, proprietà intellettuale, sostenibilità
esistenziale e impatto sociale sulle nostre vite.
?Spleen Machine (2019) è la sua opera prima, prodotta da Braga e Robert Lippok e pubblicata dall’etichetta tedesca
7K!. È stata inserita da Rolling Stone tra i 10 dischi più influenti realizzati da artisti che utilizzano l’AI insieme a icone
come Holly Herndon.
La performance audiovisiva Spleen Machine è stata presentata in prestigiosi festival e istituti culturali europei, tra
cui Ars Electronica, Mutek, Sonar, RomaEuropa, Centre Pompidou, Rothko Center.
La preview del suo nuovo progetto Automatic Impermanence ha debuttato come installazione d’arte e performance
nella mostra “Ipotesi Metaverso”, una collettiva che ha ospitato alcuni dei più importanti artisti che lavorano con l’AI
come Refik Anadol e Pak.
Il 3 Giugno 2024 debutta con la sua prima mostra personale all’Auditorium Parco Della Musica di Roma, in un
progetto in partnership con MUSEO MACRO.
Alla mostra seguirà un tour del live show, il cui inizio è previsto per l’autunno 2024.

A different hypothesis of Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability and Music
Distribution through Technology is presented in ALEX BRAGA’s new work

From … June 2024 to Sept. 29, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in the AuditoriumArte space,
Fondazione Musica per Roma will feature the installation of Alex Braga’s first solo exhibition, “Automatic
Impermanence.”
Automatic Impermanence), is a bold snapshot of our dystopian times, were Artificial Intelligence, technology,
humans and future are the centerpieces of a possible new perspective for tomorrow, fiercely vibrating between the
edges of fulfillment or destruction that challenges the audience to find the “infinite within the finite boundaries of our
world”.
Thus the music and the visual of Alex Braga are constantly slightly changing thanks to the bond and relationship
between the human artist and his AI A-MINT, that reacts in real time, influenced by the circumstances, environment,
emotions of the very moment experienced by Braga. In each show, every sound and image are unique, made by the
artist and augmented by A-MINT, every moment is unique, every moment in sequence becomes a pattern for an
infinite life.
The interactive multimedia artwork turns the experience of listening to Alex Braga’s original compositions, into a
journey of impermanence.
MUSIC, INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS AND A NEW WAY OF SINGING
The 9 chapters of which the work is composed, with music produced in Berlin by Robert Lippok together with Braga
himself – and featuring the precious cameo of the cult band Chicks On Speed – are portals to enter as many worlds,
concepts, themes, issues, reflections, where the thick layers of soundscapes merge with the artist’s voice, singing in
a singular way very concise lyrics, stories or poems or snapshots that open our eyes, hearts and minds to a new
dimension. Braga’s voice also works in synergy with A-MINT Artificial Intelligence in a frantic search for overlapping
layers that create unexpected, impossible harmonies dragging the listener to the edge of a new border.
SUSTAINABILITY
The Automatic Impermanence project confirms the artist’s decades-long commitment to fight for a healthier, cleaner
and more conscious world through music, culture, technology and education: Automatic Impermanence first live
performance underwent a major environmental impact assessment that lays the foundation for the new model that
should be implemented at all live events, marking another fundamental step in the collaboration between the artist
and the sustainability scientist Vienna Eleuteri, fostered by CONNECT4CLIMATE program.
THE HYPOTHESIS OF A NEW WAY OF DISTRIBUTING MUSIC
With Automatic Impermanence the Artist is also trying to experiment a different and more sustainable way to spread
music and art. Free from Record Labels and streaming platforms : music is not for sale, it is not a product, it is not
available in websites and platforms that exploits data and humans as products, because this creates one of the
strongest forms of consciousness pollution.
Automatic Impermanence is available to experience live, as an installation or a performance, and on the very few
DECENTRALIZED platforms on the web that contribute to create a more conscious digital world instead of a world
of frustration and exploitment.
With Automatic Impermanence Alex Braga is closing a circle that starts on the edge of futuristic technology and
leaps forward to find a new start in the only possible solution : our humanity, or what is left of it, to be protected and
fostered with every possible effort, for a new sustainable Now.
ALEX BRAGA
Experimental artist, musician, producer and curator, Alex Braga is a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence.
He developed A-MINT, with professors Francesco Riganti and Antonino Laudani from university of RomaTre, an
adaptive artificial intelligence ecosystem that works in real-time and interact with the artists on the music but also on
visuals thanks to the code added by researcher Lorenzo Sabino.
Braga’s research on AI has contributed significantly to raise awareness on the debate between humans and
machines, the ethical dilemma between deep learning, data mining, intellectual property, existential sustainability
and the social impact on our lives.
Spleen Machine (2019) it’s his debut work, produced by Braga and Robert Lippok and published by the German
label 7K! and listed by Rolling Stone as one of the 10 most influential record made by artists using AI alongside
icons such as Holly Herndon.
Spleen Machine AV show was presented in prestigious festivals and venues in Europe, including Ars Electronica,
Mutek, Sonar, RomaEuropa, Centre Pompidou, Rothko Center.
The preview of his new project Automatic Impermanence debuted as an art installation and performance in the
exhibition “Ipotesi Metaverso”, a group exhibition featuring some of the most prominent artists working with AI such
as Refik Anadol and Pak.
On June 3rd 2024 Alex Braga has debuted with the full work of AUTOMATIC IMPERMANENCE, his first solo
exhibition at Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome, in collaboration with MUSEUM MACRO.
The exhibition will be followed by a tour of the live show, beginning in fall 2024.
