The Week Ahead: Key Events and Meetings – 19-25 June 2023
PACE Summer Session
The Assembly will also hold a joint debate on the topic of migration, discussing three reports on the integration of migrants and refugees; the social inclusion of migrants, refugees and internally displaced persons through sport; and the health and social protection of undocumented workers or those in an irregular situation.
Other topics on the agenda include: addressing the specific challenges faced by Belarusians in exile (with the participation of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, leader of the Belarus democratic opposition); the reform of human rights legislation in the United Kingdom; and transnational repression as a growing threat to the rule of law and human rights. There will also be debates on the need for a holistic approach to health care during public health emergencies, and on closing the digital divide.
Parliamentarians will discuss the budgets and priorities of the Council of Europe for 2024-2027, and the Assembly’s expenditure for the biennium 2024-2025.

20 June, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing nine judgments concerning Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Greece, Romania and Türkiye.
22 June, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 56 judgments and/or decisions concerning Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Ukraine.
23 June, Tbilisi (4 pm) – The Council of Europe Office in Georgia will open its human rights corner at the Tbilisi Open Air Festival to promote human rights, diversity, and democracy in Georgia.
From 23 to 25 June, visitors will take part in interactive entertaining activities aimed at raising awareness of equality, diversity, gender issues, as well as in discussions on the importance of physical and mental health.
23 June, Chisinau (Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel, 9 am-4.30 pm) – The Council of Europe and the Agency for Interethnic Relations of the Government of the Republic of Moldova will organise an event to discuss how to improve the situation of disadvantaged communities, including the Roma, by implementing national strategies through local planning and action.
Council of Europe, European Commission and government representatives as well as experts in local development and Romanian municipality representatives will speak and share experiences at the plenary session, which will be webcasted live and open to media.
Simultaneous interpretation English/Romanian/Russian will be available.
