Week in brief 17-23 April 2023
2023 Privacy Symposium examines global role of Council of Europe’s data protection “Convention 108”
The event, hosted by the University of Ca’Foscari and patronised by the Garante (Italian Data Protection Authority), will gather high-level representatives from government and international organisations, experts, academics and data protection authorities over the globe.
Turning 18 with confidence – international launching event
In this context, the Youth Department will also organise a workshop with young refugees and youth workers, at the European Youth Centre, from 17 to 19 April.

18 Avril, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing seven judgments concerning Belgium, Croatia, Malta, Romania and Türkiye.
The opening session, during which the joint projects will be presented, will be open to media between 2 and 2.30 pm Baku time. No dedicated press briefing is foreseen.
Prior accreditation of media representatives is requested at the latest by noon (Baku time) on 17 April.
20 April, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 26 judgments and/or decisions concerning Croatia, Italy, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye and the United Kingdom.
The opening session, during which the joint projects will be presented, will be open to media between 10 and 10.30 am Tbilisi time. No dedicated press briefing is foreseen.
Prior accreditation of media representatives is requested at the latest by noon (Tbilisi time) on 19 April.
The event will be open to media upon preliminary registration.
