Caricasulo combative and unlucky in race2
Unlucky Race 2, in Assen, for Althea Racing and Federico Caricasulo, immediately leading the race with an incredible start but then out for trying to force to stay with the best after having had acceleration problems. The regulation still penalizes the Ducatis on the track as it makes it necessary to force more than often would be appropriate. The positive aspect is that the team has worked well and that Federico has the attitude of someone who wants to fight for the positions that matter. Constantly working to improve is the only way to achieve concrete results.
We made some changes and we started very well, so much so that on the first lap I was first.
Unfortunately we suffer a lot in acceleration and I lost some positions for this reason. I tried to stay at least with the other Ducati but we still have some lack of power which I have tried to remedy in other ways.
I pushed a little too much on the way to t1 and I closed the front.
Compared to Aragon we have made a huge step in terms of chassis. We still lack a bit of acceleration to be able to stay with the best.
A very unlucky race2. A crash for Federico who, to tell the truth, struck me a lot for the concentration and determination he had at the start, taking the lead in the race. We still lack something to be able to play for the podium, certainly not for the victory, given that the technical equipment we have compared to our rivals is too much lower. I don’t know if anything will change right away. If it doesn’t change, it will mean having wanted to disregard my expectations and those of all the Ducatisti who saw this bike as a competitive solution to fight for the victory, given that the Ducati riders currently have nothing to envy to their rivals. In my opinion, the regulation should be reviewed as soon as possible otherwise there is a risk of distorting the show and the championship, giving a not too serious image of this category. Those who have to do it should do it immediately because there are factories, sponsors and people who are very committed and should not waste energy. I’m happy with the team’s work and as for Federico, I know he tried his best. This is the attitude of a rider who wants to stay ahead. In this way of seeing the races, there are also the crashes that are part of the game of those who want to be competitive. We hope that something will change over the next race weekend.
