Mr Reynders gave an overview of where things stand with regard to proposals on which negotiations are ongoing. He also informed about the upcoming initiatives on the revision of the Package Travel Directive, the Consumer Enforcement Package (revision of the CPC Regulation and the ADR/ODR framework), the Product Safety pledge, the Cookies pledge and the Fitness Check of EU consumer law on digital fairness.
Mr Gentiloni focused on the upcoming proposal concerning the reform of the Customs Package, which he informed will be published around 17 May. The key objectives of this package are a more efficient, geopolitical and agile Customs Union.
These two exchanges were the last in a series of four, which saw the Executive Vice-President Ms Margrethe Vestager and the Commissioner for the Internal Market, Mr Thierry Breton address the Committee earlier on in the year.
