A joint session of the presidencies of the Democratic People’s Alliance (DNS) and the Serbian People’s Party (NPS) was held in East Sarajevo, where both parties expressed strong support for the leadership of Republika Srpska in its efforts to preserve its jurisdiction and ensure respect for the Dayton Agreement.
Darko Banjac, president of the NPS, reiterated full support for the policies pursued by the leadership of Republika Srpska, emphasizing the importance of the struggle to maintain the entity’s competencies and uphold the core principles established by the peace agreement.
“Absolute support for the policies pursued by the leadership of Republika Srpska, which includes these two political parties, particularly the fight to preserve Republika Srpska’s jurisdiction, its development path, and the fundamental principles of the Dayton Peace Agreement,” Banjac stated.
He went on to announce that DNS and NPS will form a stable coalition, strengthening cooperation between the two parties at the local level.
“In the coming period, we will do everything possible for our city and municipal committees and their leaderships to hold joint meetings to prepare a leadership tour of both parties, led by Nenad Nešić and the leadership of NPS, in order to promote the unity of these two parties through a strong and stable coalition, aiming to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead in the coming months,” he added.
Velimir Vezmar, Secretary General of DNS, emphasized that immediate priorities include consolidating the organization, maintaining policy consistency, and establishing local committees where they currently do not exist.
“DNS and NPS, which together have 130 councilors, currently represent the third political force in Republika Srpska. It is necessary to further strengthen our structures to successfully face the 2026 elections, both in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Vezmar stated.
