The Library of Congress is accepting applications for an Administrative Officer, GS-11, until May 5, 2023.
The Geography and Map Division is offering an opportunity for a qualified individual at the GS-9 level to serve on a full-time, 120-day temporary promotion to the GS-11 OR a qualified individual at the GS-11 level (no promotion) to serve on a full-time 120-day detail as an Administrative Officer in the Geography and Map Division (GMD). Applicants must have one year time-in-grade at the GS-9 level to be eligible to be temporarily promoted to the GS-11.
Responsibilities
The Administrative Officer provides administrative coordination and program support to the division with responsibility for serving as an advisor on administrative matters to the Chief of the division. In carrying out administrative responsibilities, the incumbent applies in-depth, expert knowledge of and skill in personnel management, budget implementation, office equipment, procurement procedures, records management and have knowledge of Library Directives, and the applicable LC regulations and agreements, procedures, and processes.
In conjunction with the Chief advises supervisors and staff on an array of administrative matters, determining resources and priorities in areas of personnel, budget, procurement, space utilization, equipment, security, employee relations, labor-management, position descriptions.
This position reports directly to the Chief, Geography and Map Division.
The selected applicant must possess knowledge of the technical aspects of administrative, human resources, and financial management coordination.

– Ability to conduct a range of administrative functions including time and attendance, personnel actions, travel and training arrangements, facilities requests, procurement and records management.
– Ability to use administrative systems (Momentum, E2, WebTA, EmpowHR, E-management) and standard office applications including Microsoft Office and Confluence
– Ability to provide exceptional customer service to supervisors, staff, and external stakeholders to the Division.
Eligibility:This opportunity is open to LC permanent staff who have permission from theirsupervisor.
Work Schedule: This opportunity is open to permanent staff of the Library of Congress. The work schedule is Flextime, Monday thru Friday. Telework will be available two days per week.

Start Date:The desired start date for the Detail or Temporary Promotion is May 22, 2023.
Deadline for Application Submissions is May 5, 2023
This temporary promotion or detail will be for a 120-day period.
