Week in brief 10-16 April 2023
11 Avril, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing three judgments concerning Bulgaria and the Netherlands.
12 April, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will hold a Grand Chamber hearing in the case of Communauté genevoise d’action syndicale (CGAS) v. Switzerland (9.15 am).
The case concerns an association which complains about being deprived of the right to organise and participate in public events following the adoption of measures to tackle Covid-19 under Ordinance O.2 Covid-19, enacted by the Federal Council on 13 March 2020.
The event will provide a platform for exchange on the main findings, recommendations and suggested way forward among representatives of national authorities, civil society organisations, Council of Europe and ECPAT International. Head of the Council of Europe Children’s Rights and Sport Values Department, Irena Guidikova will deliver opening remarks.
13 Avril, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 70 judgments and/or decisions concerning Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Türkiye, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

11 avril, Strasbourg – La Cour européenne des droits de l’homme communiquera par écrit trois arrêts concernant la Bulgarie et les Pays-Bas.
12 avril, Strasbourg – La Cour européenne des droits de l’homme tiendra une audience de Grande Chambre dans l’affaire Communauté genevoise d’action syndicale (CGAS) c. Suisse (9h15).
L’affaire concerne une association qui se plaint d’avoir été privée du droit d’organiser des manifestations publiques et de prendre part à pareilles manifestations à la suite des mesures de lutte contre le coronavirus en vertu de l’Ordonnance O.2 Covid-19 adoptée le 13 mars 2020 par le Conseil fédéral.
L’événement constituera une plateforme d’échanges sur les principales conclusions, les recommandations et les solutions proposées pour l’avenir entre les représentants des autorités nationales, les organisations de la société civile, le Conseil de l’Europe et ECPAT International. La Cheffe du Service des droits des enfants et des valeurs du sport, Irena Guidikova prononcera le discours d’ouverture.
