The Library of Congress is accepting applications for Supervisory Librarian (Assistant Head, Digitization Services Section), GS-14, until April 3, 2023.
The incumbent of this position serves supervisor in the Digitization Services Section (DSS), Digital Collections Management & Services Division (DCMS), Digital Services Directorate (DSD), Discovery and Preservation Services (DPS) within the Library Collections Services Group (LCSG) at the Library of Congress (Library). Reporting to the Head, DSS, the incumbent serves as Assistant Section Head and has primary responsibility for implementing digitization strategy for DSS. The section is responsible for management and operation of the Library’s access-based digitization program, research and development of digitization technologies and processes, and ensuring all digitization performed by or for the Library of Congress conforms to Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) guidance. DSS staff collaborate with Library curatorial units, technical staff, and external organizations to establish best practices, implement new and streamline existing digitization workflows, identify digitization problems, and propose solutions within the scope of the section. In performing duties, the incumbent has access to gold and platinum level collections.
