Weekend events and road closures for October 15 to 16
A number of road closures and restrictions will be in effect this weekend to support events and critical infrastructure work in Toronto.
Event road closures
To accommodate the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon, the following roads will be closed to vehicle traffic:
On Saturday, October 15, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 16:
• Bay Street from the north side of Queen Street to the south side of Dundas Street West.
• Hagerman Street from Bay Street to Elizabeth Street
• Elizabeth Street from Hagerman Street to Dundas Street West. Access is permitted for local traffic only.
• Albert Street from east of Bay Street to James Street. Access is permitted for local traffic only.
• James Street from Queen Street West to Albert Street. Access is permitted for local traffic only.
On Sunday, October 16, from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.:
• Northbound and southbound lanes on University Avenue from the south side of Dundas Street West to the north side of King Street West.
• Armoury Street from the west side of Centre Avenue to the west side of Chestnut Street
On Sunday, October 16, from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
• Bay Street from the north side of Queen Street West to the north side of Lake Shore Boulevard
• Queen Street West from the east side of University Avenue to the west side of Yonge Street
On Sunday, October 16, from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
• Lake Shore Boulevard West from Windermere Avenue to Bathurst Street
On Sunday, October 16, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
• Lake Shore Boulevard East and West from Bathurst Street to Don Roadway
• Front Street from Bay Street to Church Street
On Sunday, October 16, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
• Eastbound lanes on Front Street from Church Street to Jarvis Street
• Wellington Street from Church Street to Bay Street
• Church Street from the Esplanade to Front Street East
• Queen Street from Simcoe Street to Yonge Street
• Richmond Street from Simcoe Street to Yonge Street
• Adelaide Street from Simcoe Street to Yonge Street
On Sunday, October 16, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
• Front Street from Cherry Street to Bayview Avenue
• Bayview Avenue from Mill Street to River Street
• Tannery Road from Front Street to Mill Street
On Sunday, October 16, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.:
• University Avenue/Queen’s Park Cr. from Dundas Street to Bloor Street
• Bloor Street from Queens Park/Avenue Road. to Bathurst Street
• Bathurst Street from Bloor Street to Lake Shore Boulevard
• Fort York Boulevard from Bathurst Street to Lake Shore Boulevard
On Sunday, October 16, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.:
• Lake Shore Boulevard East from Carlow Avenue to Woodbine Avenue
• Queen Street from Woodbine Avenue to Balsam Avenue
• Eastern Avenue/Front Street from Carlaw Avenue to Jarvis Street
Construction closures
Access to Lake Shore Boulevard via northbound Yonge Street will be closed from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, to facilitate gas main replacement work by Enbridge. A single westbound traffic lane will be maintained at the intersection.
Northbound and southbound lanes are reduced on York Street at the Metrolinx Underpass, north of Bremner Boulevard, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on October 14 as a safety precaution while platform removal occurs overhead. One northbound and one southbound lane in each direction will be maintained at all times.
Gerrard Street West between Bay Street and Yonge Street will be closed on Saturday, October 15, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a mobile crane hoist at 44 Gerard St. W. A two-way vehicle lane for emergency service will be maintained at all times.
Access to Lake Shore Boulevard from northbound Yonge Street is restricted until Saturday, October 15 at 11:59 p.m. Westbound Lake Shore Boulevard, between Jarvis and Yonge Streets, will be reduced to one lane until Friday, October 21, for continuing gas main work.
To accommodate TTC streetcar tracks replacement and other infrastructure upgrades, the following roads closures are in effect:
• College Street, from St. George Street to Spadina Avenue, is fully closed to vehicular traffic
• College Street, between Borden Street and Spadina Avenue, is reduced to one eastbound lane
• College Street from St. George Street to Kings College Road is reduced to one westbound lane
These closures are expected to be in place until mid-November.
The Carlton and Church Streets intersection has partially reopened. Vehicles can turn right onto westbound Carlton Street from southbound Church Street and turn right onto southbound Church Street from eastbound Carlton Street.
The intersection of King Street West and Shaw Street is fully closed until mid-November for TTC track replacement.
Traffic lanes on Queens Park, between Bloor Street West and Queen’s Park Crescent, are reduced to accommodate the TTC’s Easier Access (elevator installation) work at Museum Station.
The Queensway has a reduced number of lanes in both directions, between Parkside Drive and the King-Queen-Queensway-Roncesvalles (KQQR) intersection, for TTC track replacement and road reconstruction work. Eastbound left turns are not permitted from The Queensway to Glendale Avenue.
Roncesvalles Avenue is closed from Queen Street West to Harvard Avenue for water main replacement, TTC track replacement and road reconstruction.
Wellington Street, from Church Street to Yonge Street, is reduced to one westbound lane for TTC track replacement and sidewalk improvements. Scott Street, north of Wellington Street, is closed to all vehicular traffic, and Church Street is closed at the Esplanade.
ActiveTO
There will be no ActiveTO major road closures this weekend.

TTC closures
There are no TTC closures or service disruptions scheduled this weekend.
