Paris/Rome, 16th September 2024 – ITA Airways will participate in the 2024 IFTM Top Resa, the international
tourism trade show held in Paris from September 17th to 19th. The event, hosted at the Parc des Expositions
de la Porte de Versailles and featuring the participation of the main airlines and travel companies in Europe,
will be an opportunity for the Company to consolidate its presence in the French market.
IFTM Top Resa, held annually in Paris, is the leading event for travel and tourism professionals across
various sectors, including Business, Leisure, Groups, MICE, and Events. This important event represents a
dynamic global platform, uniting the industry’s top players to shape the future of sustainable travel and
tourism. The 2024 edition will showcase over 1,400 brands and welcome more than 30,000 professionals
from 170 destinations, offering a comprehensive three-day program.
ITA Airways will be exhibiting with its own branded booth within the Club Affaires, the dedicated area for
Business Travel Specialists, located in the Airline Pavilion (stand E019). Here, the local sales team will be
present to welcome visitors and business partners, offering insights into the latest company news and key
developments.
France is ITA Airways’ second-largest European market after Italy. A key focus of the airline’s presence at the
show this year is to highlight its connections between France and Italy, offering up to 92 weekly frequencies,
totaling 184 weekly flights during the summer season.
In details, the operations between France and Italy include:
– 4 daily flights between Paris Charles De Gaulle and Rome Fiumicino
– 3 daily flights between Nice and Rome Fiumicino
– Up to 7 daily flights between Paris Charles De Gaulle/Orly and Milan Linate.
One of the main themes of ITA Airways’ attendance at the show is the introduction in the upcoming winter
season of direct flights to key Eastern markets, such as Dubai, on October 27, and Bangkok, on November
16. Both routes will be operated by next-generation aircraft, which reduce fuel consumption and CO?
emissions by an average 20%.
At this important event, ITA Airways will showcase the latest innovations in customer service, including the
introduction of Premium Economy on its Airbus A350-900 fleet for improved comfort on intercontinental flights.
The updated cabin configuration offers 33 Business, 24 Premium Economy, and 262 Economy seats, with
Premium Economy passengers enjoying benefits like priority boarding, extra legroom, and reserved overhead
space.
As a further proof of the importance of the French market, ITA Airways, through its loyalty program VOLARE,
offers exclusive services and the ability to earn points from the very first flight, along with a wide range of
partnerships.
Volare is growing rapidly: it currently has a customer base of 2.4 million members and features over 30
commercial partners and 10 alliances with other airlines’ loyalty programs. The program is highly valued in
France, which ranks as the fourth-largest market by number of members.
2024 is a year of strong growth for ITA Airways, particularly in long-haul routes, a key strategic focus for the
company. This summer, ITA Airways is serving 57 destinations, including 16 domestic, 26 international, and
15 intercontinental routes, with new nonstop flights from Rome to Chicago, Toronto, Riyadh, Accra, Dakar,
and Jeddah. Passengers arriving in Rome can easily connect to ITA Airways’ extensive domestic and
European network from its main hub at Rome Fiumicino.
Among the new destinations, the Middle East has emerged as a critical market with new routes to Riyadh,
catering primarily to business travelers, and Jeddah, serving both leisure and religious tourism. In subSaharan Africa, the new routes to Accra and Dakar improve point-to-point connections and strengthen ties
between the two regions, supporting both business and leisure travel.
All ITA Airways flights can be purchased on the website ita-airways.com, through the Company’s customer
center, travel agencies, and airport ticket offices.
