WHA Highlights for Media
Day 6 of the 78th World Health Assembly (24 May)
The Seventy-eighth World Health Assembly [https://apps.who.int/gb/e/e_wha78.html] (WHA78) continues at the Palais des Nations in Geneva today in Committee A, which will meet in the morning, from 09.00 to 12.00 CEST.

Highlights of the day:
Approval of the decisions on rare diseases, skin diseases, and on accelerating the eradication of dracunculiasis (Guinea-worm disease)
Action on the decision on strengthening health financing globally

Committee A
Under the agenda item on universal health coverage and primary health care, the Committee will discuss the approval of decisions related to the uptake and impact of norms and standards ( EB156(14) [https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/EB156/B156_(14)-en.pdf]), rare diseases ( EB156(15) [https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/EB156/B156_(15)-en.pdf]), health financing globally ( EB156(16) [https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/EB156/B156_(16)-en.pdf]), medical imaging capacity ( EB156(17) [https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/EB156/B156_(17)-en.pdf]).
On communicable diseases, it will address decisions on accelerating the eradication of dracunculiasis (Guinea-worm disease) ( EB156(23) [https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/EB156/B156_(23)-en.pdf]) and on skin diseases as a global public health priority ( EB156(24) [https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/EB156/B156_(24)-en.pdf]), and will discuss the progress on the Global road map on defeating meningitis by 2030 ( A78/4 [https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/WHA78/A78_4-en.pdf]).
