Discounted Parking Programs
Effective May 1, 2025, the Discounted Based on Earnings Parking Program (DEPP) expanded and now provides more participants with earnings based discounted parking options.
Why did the program change?
Due to general wage increases and operational hours amongst employers in the downtown area, there is a greater need to support employees who work varying shift times and hours.
What major changes should I be aware of?
PTEP is discontinued because it was based on the number of hours worked.
DEPP was revised to a three-tiered system to accommodate a wider range of wages.
Permit limits at all City garages were increased to accommodate more participants. However, as there is still a limit to the number of permits issued at each garage, application acceptance is subject to garage availability.
Old Sacramento Garage is limited to employees who work within the Old Sacramento District. All DEPP and P-TEP participant accounts will automatically be converted to the tiered system and will continue to receive their discounted rates until the next renewal period in September 2025.

Conventions, permitted special events and G1C venue events expecting 15,000 or more attendees require additional and complex operational support to efficiently supply parking demand. The additional support required includes, but is not limited to, special event meter rates, flat rate garage operations, managing parking garage ingress and egress, additional staffing, street closure alerts, and rerouting to other City parking facilities when locations achieve full capacity.
