Banja Luka – The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Staša Košarac, said that the sanctions imposed by Germany and Austria on the leadership of Republika Srpska were an ineffective and ideologically motivated political move, with no real strategic effect.
Košarac emphasised that these measures will not achieve the goals of the “neoliberal power centres” that promoted them, saying that it is actually an ideological battle between two worldviews.
“Nobody here is really fighting for Muslims or for the preservation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is a clash between two political concepts: on the one hand, sovereignty, the traditional family and Christian values; on the other hand, globalism, the fluidity of values, uncontrolled migration,” Košarac said
According to Košarac, President Milorad Dodik and the Republika Srpska leadership are no strangers to sanctions, and not even measures taken by more powerful states in the past have managed to weaken them.
‘Not even sanctions from stronger countries have broken us, and these will be no exception,’ he said.
He also pointed out that the real reason behind the recent sanctions is Republika Srpska’s good relationship with conservative European political parties, such as the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) and the AfD in Germany.
“The Austrian Freedom Party, with which we cooperate excellently, won the elections, but was not allowed to form a government. The same applies to the AfD in Germany. The sanctions are a revenge of the Liberals for this cooperation of ours,” Košarac said.
Finally, he reiterated that the political moment of sovereignty has yet to fully manifest itself, but that it is inevitable. With this in mind, he said that Republika Srpska, together with its president Dodik, is on the right and winning side of history.
“We are not changing course. The world is changing and our time is coming,’ he concluded.
