(AGENPARL) – sab 23 dicembre 2023 Dear Supporter,
As the year comes to a close, I want to express profound gratitude for your support of the Center for International Policy. Your commitment has been a driving force behind our efforts to stop the intersecting devastation of wars, climate change, corruption, inequality, racism and increased violence, globally and domestically, to create a safer and more just world.
In 2023, your contributions enabled us to:
? Produce groundbreaking research on the Israel-Gaza and Russia-Ukraine conflicts, U.S.-China relations and the illicit fentanyl trade, the role of social media platforms in human trafficking, and racism in U.S. foreign policy, as well as publishing only-of-its-kind data through Security Assistance Monitor and the U.S. Legislative Tracker.
? Advise top-level policymakers in Congress, the U.S. State Department, the White House and leaders abroad on alternative policy solutions to the growing challenges of militarization, authoritarianism and injustice.
? Amplify our advocacy for accountable foreign policy with an expanded digital footprint and media coverage in at least eight languages and in high-level outlets such as Foreign Affairs, The New York Times, The Washington Post, HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher, NPR, NBC, Al Jazeera, BBC, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, Politico and CNN.
? Extend solidarity to fellow progressives abroad, challenging the dominant divisive paradigm of “great power competition.” We fosteredmeaningful international collaborations with progressive leaders across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
? Empower a community of advocates through close collaboration with civil society organizations in the U.S. and abroad that enriches our analysis with an inclusive and diverse perspective and effects meaningful change, like Congress’ decision to block a portion of U.S. military aid to Egypt earlier this year until human rights milestones are met.
? Expand our impact through the addition of four new Non-Resident Senior Fellows (María José Espinosa Carrillo, Nadine Farid Johnson, Dr. Van Jackson, and Terrell Jermaine Starr); the hiring of Executive Vice President Matt Duss, Vice President for Government Affairs Dylan Williams, Vice President of Communications Sara DuBois, and Chief Editor Kelsey D. Atherton; as well as the sponsorship of the Iran Podcast, the Forum for Arms Trade and Women for Weapons Transparency programs.
As we look ahead to 2024, we’re excited about the positive change we can create together. Your continued support is instrumental.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a New Year filled with hope and progress.
Sincerely,
Nancy Okail
