Economic Recovery Corps Fellowship Information Session

The Economic Recovery Corps Program is a multi-year, $30 million collaborative initiative designed to accelerate recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in distressed communities and regions throughout the U.S. by connecting organizations with the talent and capacity needed to advance new ways of doing economic development that promote economic resilience and transformative change. This informational webinar will provide prospective Economic Recovery Corps (ERC) fellows — early to mid-career economic development professionals —the opportunity to learn more about the ERC program, its impact on the field of economic development and how to apply for the opportunity to become a fellow. Fellows will receive compensation and robust professional development opportunities through this program.

Introduction to the Access, Process, and Outcome Framework

Defining equity in the context of regional economic development requires reconciling the diverse definitions of equity, inclusion, and diversity from different sectors and bodies of literature and practice. This webinar introduces economic development practitioners to the Access, Process, and Outcome (APO) framework. The APO framework provides a common understanding for practitioners across the diverse field of economic development that clarifies the underlying drivers that can influence outcomes, either positively through intentional investment and action, or negatively through neglect, oversight, or exclusion.

The State of the EDDs and CEDS Content Guidelines Updates

Recently, EDA designated its 400th Economic Development District (EDD) and also released updates to the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) content guidelines. During this prerecorded webinar, EDA and National Association of Development Organizations (NAD) staff: (1) reflect on the current state of the national network of EDDs, (2) highlight the value of EDD designation and the impact of EDDs in the regions they serve, (3) provide an overview of the new CEDS content guidelines sections on equity, climate resilience, and workforce development, (4) feature resources and opportunities to support EDDs and CEDS planning and implementation. This webinar was produced as part of NADO’s operation of the EDD Community of Practice.
