Free State Provincial Government Research Colloquium 2025 to be hosted at CUT
6 October 2025
Free State Provincial Government in collaboration with the Central University of Technology will host the 8th annual Free State Provincial Research Colloquium from 07-08 October 2025 at the Bloemfontein Campus under the theme “Inclusive economic recovery and long-term growth.”
Various university researchers and key stakeholders from Free State Government departments will come together to discuss the challenges and explore research solutions that can be employed to bring about sustainable economic development and growth in the province.
This year’s theme covers a wide range of interesting topics related to all theoretical and practical aspects, including developing human capabilities, improving institutional capabilities, harnessing innovative agro-prcessing to support economic growth and improve municipalities, and developing a dynamic transformation of human settlement.
The main objective of the 2025 Research Colloquium is to facilitate knowledge sharing and deepen the understanding on how to devise and implement effective fiscal policy tools to move the provincial economy on an appropriate growth path, as well as physical sustainability that will support the economic growth development., to improve public governance, cut off wasteful expenditure, deliver quality services to the people and enhance technological innovations.
MECs from different departments will also form part of the event on the day.
