Rome, 19 December 2023 – Today, Standard Ethics assigned Terna a “Positive” Outlook, an
upgrade from the “Stable” rating of the previous assessment. The non-financial ratings firm has
also affirmed the “EE” Corporate Rating which places the company led by Giuseppina Di Foggia in
the best category for ESG practices, called “Sustainable”.

adopted an ESG governance model aligned with the guidelines of
Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and of the EU.

This new international recognition for sustainability, a strategic driver and one of the pillars of
Group’s operations, confirms Terna’s role as a leader and enabler of the energy transition towards
an increasingly more sustainable and resilient grid: based on European Taxonomy eligibility
criteria, in fact, 99% of Terna’s investments are considered sustainable.
Terna’s leadership in sustainability is also evidenced by the presence of the company in the major
ESG indices. The Italian power grid operator, also identified as a top performer by the leading ESG
ratings agencies, is included, among others, in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, Euronext
Vigeo Eiris, FTSE4Good, Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, ECPI, MIB 40 ESG, S&P Global 1200
ESG and Stoxx Global ESG Leaders indices. Furthermore, Terna recently took the “Best ESG
Rating Award 2023”, a prestigious award based on analyses by Standard Ethics: the Group took
this thanks to its top ESG performance, and particularly in the area of Environment, for its actions
to protect biodiversity.
