City Department of Utilities staff are inviting people to an event on July 22, called the "Water Wise Garden Showcase," to learn about gardening and watering wisely.The showcase will feature experts on efficient irrigation practices, landscape designers, plant nurseries and information on City water-saving rebates.The event is from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Department of Utilities campus (1395 35th Ave.) and short educational talks will be available from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m.Here is a list of vendors that will be featured:Save Our WaterHunter IndustriesGreen AcresMother Natives Plant NurseryCalifornia Native Plant Society, Sacramento ChapterUC Master Gardeners of Sacramento CountyBrodeur LandscapesWater Wise LandscapesEcological Systems DesignLiving Systems LandscapeCity of Sacramento water conservation teamPeople can RSVP for the event on the Department of Utilities Facebook page. An RSVP is not required to attend but helps staff plan for the event. Raffle prizes will be available to people who attend and are present during the raffle.
