Artificial intelligence: plenary vote and press conference
*In a vote at 12.00, Parliament will set its negotiating position on the new rules to mitigate the risks of artificial intelligence and promote its ethical use. President Metsola and co-rapporteurs Brando Benifei (S&D, IT) and Drago? Tudorache (Renew, RO) will explain the outcome of the vote in a press conference at 13.30 [4] .

Pegasus: Parliament’s proposals to tackle the illegal use of spyware
*Starting around 14.00, plenary will discuss Commissioner Reynders how to respond to spyware abuse in Europe, based on the findings of the Committee of Inquiry investigating Pegasus and equivalent programmes. MEPs will vote on Thursday on their recommendations on how to avoid abusive use of spyware. Lead MEPs will present the draft recommendations in a press conference [9] at 11.00 today.

MEPs’ priorities for the 29-30 June European Council*
In a debate at 9.00 with the Commission Vice-President Šef?ovi? and Swedish Minister Roswall, MEPs will outline their demands ahead of the next EU summit. The latest developments in the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, economic and budgetary policies, recent steps towards concluding the Migration Pact and EU relations with third countries are expected to feature on the summit’s agenda and the plenary debate.

Debate on Poland’s electoral law and threats to the rule of law
*Starting around 10.30, MEPs will assess Poland’s recent revision of its electoral law, as well as the new administrative body that is threatening civil rights, and the latest ruling of the EU Court about the country’s judiciary with Commissioner Reynders and Swedish Minister Roswall. A plenary resolution will be put to the vote during the 10-13 July session.

In brief*
Formal sitting with Kosovo’s President. *President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani will address the European Parliament at 11.30. Prior to the formal sitting, President Metsola and President Osmani will hold a bilateral meeting.
Resolutions on human rights and democracy. *Starting around 20.00, MEPs will look into cases of torture and criminal prosecution of Ukrainian minors by Russia, the humanitarian situation in Sudan, and the deterioration of fundamental freedoms in Hong Kong. Three resolutions will be put to the vote in plenary on Thursday.
Lessons from the Pandora papers. *Around 16.00, plenary will discuss with Commissioner Gentiloni proposals to improve the fight against tax abuse and money laundering, in view of the evidence uncovered by the Pandora papers and other data leaks. The recommendations will be gathered in a resolution to be voted on by plenary on Thursday.

Between 12.00 and 13.30, MEPs will vote, among other things, on
new rules on batteries sold in the EU; the EU-Mauritius fisheries agreement; measures for quality traineeships, and food security and EU’s agriculture resilience.
