Key stocktaking report provides overview of the state of global food crises, including key drivers and potential solutions
On 3 May 2023, the Global Network against Food Crises (GNAFC) – the leading international alliance working to address the root causes of food crises and promote sustainable solutions – will release its flagship publication, The Global Report on Food Crises 2023 (GRFC). The report provides a comprehensive analysis of key factors driving food crises globally, including conflict, climate change and, increasingly, economic shocks.
The 2023 edition of the annual report finds that acute food insecurity continues to rise, whilethe ripple effects of the war in Ukraine are increasingly becoming a major driver of hunger, particularly in the world’s poorest countries. The report also examines the growing role that economic shocks are playing in driving food crises.
The Global Report on Food Crises 2023 is produced for the Global Network by the Food Security Information Network (FSIN) and represents the views of 16 of the world’s leading humanitarian and development organizations.
The report will go live at 10:00h CEST on the GNAFC website, http://www.fightfoodcrises.net.
