This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position.
The incumbent serves as an expert and authority in assigned areas of statistical programming, data analysis, and empirical methods as applied to the economic issues of copyright and the creative industries; contributes to and, as assigned, leads research projects supporting the mission of the Chief Economist or requested by the Register of Copyrights, or Members of Congress. Maintains, and promotes data and research tools that can be used by external researchers and the public; prepares documentation for internal and external datasets, to include information about the construction and characteristics of the data as well as institutional factors that may affect the interpretation of the data; produces written reports for internal use. Prepares or contributes to research reports for publication by COP and scholarly articles published in peer-reviewed outlets.
