Suspicions of corruption from Qatar: vote on a resolution
At noon, plenary is expected to adopt a resolution announcing that all parliamentary work related to Qatar will be suspended, banning representatives of Qatari interests from Parliament, and demanding stricter rules to ensure transparency and accountability.

Recognising the Holodomor as genocide and humanitarian situation in Ukraine
Around 10.00, MEPs will debate with Commissioner Kyriakides the famine inflicted by the Soviet regime on Ukraine ninety years ago (known as Holodomor). A resolution recognising it as genocide will be put to the vote at noon. In a separate debate around 10.45, plenary will assess the humanitarian situation in Ukraine due to Russia’s attacks against critical infrastructure and civilian areas.

In brief:
Attacks on critical energy infrastructure. In the afternoon, MEPs will question the Commission about the EU’s response to recent attacks on critical energy infrastructure.
Rights of minorities. In a debate with Commissioner Kyriakides at 9.00, MEPs will discuss how to ensure the rights of persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities.
Votes
Between 12.00 and 14.00, MEPs will vote, among others, on:
– upscaling the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework;
– the Chinese government’s crackdown on the peaceful protests across the country;
– the military junta’s crackdown on peaceful demonstrations in Chad;
– the case of human rights defender Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja in Bahrain, and
– the deliberations of the Committee on Petitions in 2021.
