Statement from Health Minister Audrey Gordon and Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Scott Johnston on Health Care Aide Day
As Ministers of Health and Seniors and Long-Term Care, we are pleased to proclaim Oct. 18 as Health Care Aide Day. Today, we honour all health-care aides working in our province.
Health-care aides are an integral part of the front line for our health-care system. Health-care aides work in a variety of settings and play an important role for the safety and quality of personal care for patients, clients, seniors and residents.
Throughout the pandemic, health-care aides on the front lines, and those who joined as uncertified health-care aides, protected Manitobans during incredibly difficult circumstances. That is why earlier this year our government announced tuition support to assist those uncertified health-care aides to obtain certification.
Our government joins Manitobans across the province in thanking health-care aides for their commitment to the health and well-being of Manitobans.
