(AGENPARL) – lun 13 giugno 2022 Updates on the City of Sacramento’s Climate Action Plan and Building Electrification Initiatives
On June 21, 2022, city staff will present climate related updates to the City Council’s Law and Legislation Committee on key climate actions which are moving forward ahead of the adoption of the forthcoming Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. This report will also be presented to the Planning and Design Commission on June 23. Staff reports for these items will be posted prior to the meetings [here](https://t.updates.cityofsacramento.org/r/?id=h3b28238,368a366,36ac039). The items to be discussed include:
– An update on implementation of the new building electrification ordinance.
– An update on the strategy for electrifying existing buildings.
– An update on the onsite water reuse study, which is evaluating considerations of dual plumbing and onsite water reuse for new commercial development.
The City will be releasing a preliminary public review draft of a stand-alone Climate Action Plan (CAP) on July 1, 2022. This document will be circulated for a 30-day period, several months ahead of the release of the full Draft Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, Draft 2040 General Plan and Draft Master Environmental Impact Report this fall, which will be circulated for 45 days. This approach will allow the community to have advanced review and provide comments on the draft measures to reduce the City’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Following release of the preliminary public review draft stand-alone Climate Action Plan, the Sacramento City Council will hold a workshop to discuss additional potential actions that can be taken to achieve carbon neutrality in advance of the CAP’s target date of 2045. This City Council workshop is tentatively scheduled for July 19, 2022.
