EPA, University of Arizona, Rep. Raul Grijalva to Launch $10 Million Center for Energy and Environmental Justice
Tucson, AZ – On November 1, in an event open to media, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator Martha Guzman will join U.S. Representative Raul Grijalva and Dean Iman Hakim to launch the WEST Environmental Justice Center. This first-of-its-kind center works collaboratively with communities to provide services and assistance to access the recent historic investments in environmental and energy justice.
The West EJ Center is one of 16 Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center Programs (https://www.epa.gov/environmentaljustice/environmental-justice-thriving-communities-technical-assistance-centers)  funded by EPA and the Department of Energy to remove barriers and improve accessibility for communities with environmental justice concerns.
