The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, firmly stated that neither NATO, EUFOR, nor any other international actor will be allowed to interfere in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Višković expressed appreciation to the EUFOR command in Bosnia and Herzegovina for its professional approach, emphasizing:
“They will take care of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s security, which we in Republika Srpska welcome.”
He reiterated that no warlike rhetoric has ever come from Republika Srpska:
“We have always advocated for peace, stability, and respect for the Constitution and the law. This is a political and constitutional struggle for our rights. We are not calling for war, we are not using weapons, and we are not threatening anyone.”
However, he expressed concern over ongoing calls from Sarajevo for the Prosecutor’s Office and Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to take legal action against Republika Srpska.
Višković warned that such pressure could lead to the destruction and disintegration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and make Serbs feel unwanted in the country:
“If this is the will of political Sarajevo, then we will choose our own path – a legal and legitimate one.”
He called the latest messages from Sarajevo and other power centers unacceptable, as they imply that Bosnia and Herzegovina, in its current form, is not intended for Serbs. He firmly rejected the idea of Serbs being reduced to the role of “raja,” referencing times under the Ottoman Empire.
He insisted that Sarajevo will not decide the fate of Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina:
“If political Sarajevo wants Bosnia and Herzegovina to survive, it must return to reason, sit down at the table, and negotiate. We must respect one another and build a country in line with the Dayton Constitution, one that serves all three constituent peoples — Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats — and both entities — Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH (FBiH). Only such a Bosnia and Herzegovina can survive, while a unitary BiH like Alija’s vision cannot exist.”
Višković also condemned the almost daily calls from FBiH representatives for the lynching, arrest, persecution, and even physical liquidation of Republika Srpska leaders, calling such rhetoric completely unacceptable.
