*End of Ofsted’s single headline grades** *
There’s been lots of feedback and conversation about Ofsted, accountability, and inspections, particularly as part of Ofsted’s Big Listen.
The Department announced this week that single headline grades for state-funded schools will no longer be used. For inspections this academic year parents will see four grades across the existing categories: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
New school report cards will be introduced from September 2025.
Regional improvement teams will be introduced from January 2025 to better support struggling schools.
