NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara [1] will virtually discuss her upcoming mission
to the International Space Station during live interviews ahead of launch.
O’Hara will be available for limited interviews slated to begin at 9 a.m.
EDT Wednesday, Aug. 23. The interviews will air live on NASA Television, the
NASA app [2], and the agency’s website. Watch the interviews online at:

Interested media must respond no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21 to Sarah
O’Hara, along with Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub, is
scheduled to launch to the space station [5] Friday, Sept. 15, aboard the
Roscosmos Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
She will be a flight engineer and member of the Expedition 70 station crew.
O’Hara is making her first spaceflight after selection as part of the 2017
NASA astronaut class. The Texas native earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
aerospace engineering at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and a Master of
Science degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Purdue University in West
Lafayette, Indiana.
At the time of her astronaut selection, O’Hara was a research engineer at
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, where she spent eight
years working on the engineering and operations of underwater vehicles such
as the human-occupied research submersible Alvin and the remotely operated
