The Consumer Confidence Report helps City of Sacramento water customers understand where their drinking water comes from and what it contains, and the latest report was released this month.
City water supplies are routinely tested for more than 100 substances to confirm that they meet or exceed all federal and state drinking water standards.

How to help ‘Keep Our Waters Clean’
The City’s “Keep Our Waters Clean” program helps educate boaters and recreationalists about clean and safe boating habits, including the use of pumpouts and restrooms.
With a season of summer boating ahead, City Department of Utilities staff are reminding people to keep waste and oils out of local rivers, use restrooms and dispose of pet waste and trash properly while recreating along rivers.

This event could increase your water wisdom
The Department of Utilities is hosting a “Water Wise Gardening Showcase” on July 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. at 1395 35th Ave., where Sacramento gardening and irrigation experts will come together to share their tips to help you become more “water wise.”
This event will offer information about efficient irrigation practices, landscape design, water wise plants, the City’s water rebates and more.
There will also be a variety of vendors and raffle prizes available to people who attend and are present during the raffle.

Meet our staff: Herschel Mohammed
Herschel Mohammed is an administrative analyst for the Department of Utilities in the Security and Emergency Preparedness unit.
He helps manage security and emergency preparedness for the department’s nearly 500 employees, contractors, and interns, as well as employees of other City departments.
Mohammed’s work contributes to the security and safety of staff and oversees security at the department’s facilities, including pump stations and water treatment plants.
Outside of work, he enjoys walking, spending time with family and fasting for Ramadan.
