National Numeracy Day Toolkit
– National Numeracy Day Live: a livestreamed event on 17 May with celebrities including Bobby Seagull, Katya Jones, and West Ham United Foundation.
– Number Heroes Competition: Led by Bobby Seagull, the Number Heroes Competition has a range of prizes for schools worth £6,000.
– Early years and primary school activities: Dance with Katya Jones and CBeebies Numerblocks, bake-along with Peter Sawkins, and try Bot Bingo, a new game with Numbots!
– Secondary school resources: Rap with Harry Baker, build number confidence with tips from Rachel Riley, and try money management resources from Timi Merriman-Johnson, aka Mr MoneyJar.
– National Numeracy Challenge: Build skills and confidence with numbers with National Numeracy’s tried and tested free online tool, for anyone over 13.
– The Big Number Natter: Encourage pupils aged 13 and over to share how they feel about maths and join the UK’s only nationwide conversation about numbers using #BigNumberNatter.

Resources for adults
National Numeracy Day inspires everyone to feel better about numbers at school, at work and at home – including teachers, parents, and carers!
With a dedicated toolkit for adults, National Numeracy’s resources cover numeracy for supporting children, work, and money management. Celebrities and case studies tell ‘real-life’ stories about the transformational power of numeracy improvement, helping to break down the stigma around maths.

Supporting the teaching and learning of Core Maths, A/AS level Maths and Further Maths
– For school & college leaders AMSP offers advice and information about offering a full range of Level 3 maths pathways and increasing student participation.
– For teachers there are a range of flexible professional development opportunities, teaching and learning resources, and guidance on offering advanced maths options, including Core Maths and AS/A level Further Mathematics.
– For students there are enrichment events and materials to encourage students to study maths beyond GCSE, including support for students preparing for university maths admissions tests.
Post-16 Maths success
In 2021/22 a record-breaking 3% of 19-year-olds achieved a GCSE grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2 in maths! Thank you, teachers and students, for your unwavering commitment and hard work.
