Integrated Support Services is offering an opportunity for a qualified individual to serve on a Temporary Appointment not to exceed 180 days as a Mail Assistant, GS-0305-05. Deadline for Application Submissions is April 21, 2023.
Integrated Support Services (ISS), located at the Packard Campus in Culpeper, VA supporting the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center (NAVCC). is part of The Library of Congress enabling infrastructure. ISS provides support to the Library community in the areas of Facility Services, Operations, Logistics Services, Health and Safety Services and Customer Experience.
The Mail Assistant provides support under the supervision of the Integrated Support Services on-site supervisor and is responsible for a range of responsibilities to include:
– Safe and timely delivery of items
– Inspection of materials
– Shipping and receiving
– Packaging and unpackaging
– Transport of staff
– Moving materials with pallet jacks or available equipment
– Sorts bulk mail
– Inspection of items including x-ray
– Other duties as assigned by Facility Operations (FACOPs) Supervisor
Application and Selection Process
Interested Candidates should, provide a resume with a one-page statement expressing interest in this opportunity, along with a description of qualifications that includes current work experience and the following:
– Ability to utilize computer technology
– Proof of valid Driver’s license with no infractions
– Ability to interact and communicate collaboratively with all levels of an organization
– Experience with motorized and manual pallet jacks
This temporary appointment is for 180-days andis open to all.The work schedule is determined by supervisor but will be either 7:00am to 3:30 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week.
