promising areas of science including the atomic industry in this country.
Landmark discoveries and inventions by many generations of the Kurchatov
Institute scientists and researchers made it possible to ensure nuclear parity
and our country’s leading position in the civilian nuclear industry, to forge a solid foundation for creating the nuclear power sector, nuclear-powered
submarine and nuclear-powered icebreaker fleets, microelectronics and nuclear
medicine, the space sector and other strategic economic sectors.

I am delighted to note that the Kurchatov Institute is currently seen as a major national research centre.
While retaining long-established traditions, you open up new professional
horizons and boldly introduce unique technology and innovative ideas in the field
of biomedicine and genetics, agriculture and cognitive science. You work
creatively and wholeheartedly. This approach meets present-day requirements and helps strengthen national security.

I am confident that the institute’s team will
address their tasks in a befitting manner for the benefit of Russia and its
citizens.”
