VIRTUAL PRESS CONFERENCE on global health issues and update on the earthquake in Türkiye and the Syrian Arab Republic.

WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will brief the press about his mission to the earthquake-affected countries. On March 1, he went to north-west Syria following the devastating earthquakes that hit northern Syria and southern Türkiye in February. Dr Tedros is the first UN principal to enter north-west Syria since the beginning of the conflict 12 years ago. Dr Tedros met with local authorities, partners and listened to the populations affected by the earthquake and long years of instability and saw first-hand the immense suffering of the Syrian population.
In late February, Dr Tedros visited Aleppo, Syria to meet with affected people and officials. He also visited Türkiye and met the Turkish Minister of Health, health workers and populations affected by the earthquake.
Dr Tedros will be joined by other WHO experts to answer your questions on global health matters.
