This position is located in the Office of Policy and International Affairs (PIA), US Copyright Office (COP), at the Library of Congress (Library). PIA is responsible for administering copyright law with special emphasis on policy, legislative, and international matters. Reporting to the Chief Economist within PIA, the incumbent serves as Economist, designing methods for and conducting research on the economic implications of policies and programs affecting the United States’ intellectual property (IP) system and the international copyright framework. The incumbent initiates and oversees economic analysis and research on topics of copyright protection and enforcement and of the provision of COP services to fulfill statutory obligations to administer the U.S. copyright system and advise on related policy issues. The incumbent also communicates research findings through internal and external presentations, reports and peer-reviewed research publications.
