The world association of cyclists Cyclistes Professionnels Associés (CPA) met at the end of 2022 to set the date and approve the rules for the election of the president. The riders will choose Gianni Bugno’s successor on 17 March 2023 in Milan, on the eve of the Milano-Sanremo and two days before the Trofeo Binda, which will bring together the world’s best cyclists in Italy.
«We had to wait as long as necessary to introduce the new electronic voting system into our by-laws and to guarantee its security for the smooth running of the elections» explains Bugno, who in his three consecutive terms of office has achieved so [many goals for the group](https://giannibugno.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0d1c28ea0f19abb3948f9b05b&id=9f1eba7b06&e=b5d3fa173a) since 2010, when he was elected to the top position in the riders’ association.
As can be read in detail in the regulations published on the website [www.cpacycling.com](https://giannibugno.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0d1c28ea0f19abb3948f9b05b&id=519b5161be&e=b5d3fa173a), in the elections on 17 March riders will be able to vote individually as well as through their national representatives and wherever they are. However, it will be mandatory to register as a CPA member, download the MyCpa app and participate in the assembly called on election day. The assembly will be held both in-person and online, and all women and men cyclists who are members of the association will receive the necessary information in good time to participate (for organisational reasons, if remotely, it is essential to register for the assembly no later than 48 hours before the start time).
The CPA is the first association that is part of a federation to guarantee the possibility to vote remotely. «During the last elections the riders had asked us to implement this innovation. Voting electronically meant changing our statutes, rethinking our internal structure by guaranteeing that individual riders could vote, and creating a tool, our new app, that would serve the purpose. It was not an easy task, but I am happy that we have fulfilled our commitment to the riders and I am certain that our union will come out even stronger» Gianni Bugno concludes.

L’association mondiale des cyclistes Cyclistes Professionnels Associés (CPA) s’est réunie fin 2022 pour fixer la date et approuver le règlement pour l’élection du président. Les coureurs choisiront le successeur de Gianni Bugno le 17 mars 2023 à Milan, à la veille du Milano-Sanremo et à deux jours du Trofeo Binda, qui réunira les meilleurs cyclistes du monde en Italie.
«Nous avons dû attendre le temps nécessaire pour introduire le nouveau système de vote électronique dans nos statuts et garantir sa sécurité pour le bon déroulement des élections» explique Bugno, qui au cours de ses trois mandats consécutifs a atteint [tant d’objectifs pour le groupe](https://giannibugno.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0d1c28ea0f19abb3948f9b05b&id=9bff40baec&e=b5d3fa173a) depuis 2010, date à laquelle il a été élu à la tête de l’association des coureurs.
Comme on peut le lire en détail dans le règlement publié sur le site [www.cpacycling.com](https://giannibugno.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0d1c28ea0f19abb3948f9b05b&id=8015df4e90&e=b5d3fa173a), lors des élections du 17 mars, les coureurs pourront voter individuellement ainsi que par l’intermédiaire de leurs représentants nationaux et où qu’ils se trouvent. Cependant, il sera obligatoire de s’inscrire comme membre du CPA, de télécharger l’application MyCpa et de participer à l’assemblée convoquée le jour de l’élection. L’assemblée se tiendra à la fois en personne et en ligne, et toutes les femmes et hommes cyclistes membres de l’association recevront les informations nécessaires en temps utile pour participer (pour des raisons d’organisation, si on participer à distance, il est indispensable de s’inscrire à l’assemblée au plus tard 48 heures avant l’heure de début).
Le CPA est la première association faisant partie d’une fédération à garantir la possibilité de voter à distance. «Lors des dernières élections, les coureurs nous avaient demandé de mettre en place cette innovation. Voter électroniquement a signifié changer nos statuts, repenser notre structure interne en garantissant le vote individuel des coureurs et créer un outil, notre nouvelle application, qui servirait à cela. Ce n’était pas une tâche facile, mais je suis heureux que nous ayons rempli notre engagement envers les coureurs et je suis certain que notre syndicat en sortira encore plus fort» conclut Gianni Bugno.

L’associazione mondiale dei corridori Cyclistes Professionnels Associés (CPA) a fine 2022 si è riunita per fissare la data e approvare il regolamento per le elezioni del presidente. I corridori sceglieranno il successore di Gianni Bugno il 17 marzo 2023 a Milano, alla vigilia della Milano-Sanremo e due giorni prima del Trofeo Binda, che radunerà in Italia i migliori ciclisti e cicliste del mondo.
«Abbiamo dovuto attendere il tempo necessario per introdurre il nuovo sistema di voto elettronico nel nostro statuto e garantirne la sicurezza per il regolare svolgimento delle elezioni» spiega Bugno, che nei suoi tre mandati consecutivi [tanti traguardi ha raggiunto per il gruppo](https://giannibugno.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0d1c28ea0f19abb3948f9b05b&id=4d6e97a99f&e=b5d3fa173a) dal 2010, quando è stato eletto al vertice dell’associazione corridori.
Come è possibile leggere dettagliatamente nel regolamento pubblicato sul sito [www.cpacycling.com](https://giannibugno.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0d1c28ea0f19abb3948f9b05b&id=84cb22f61a&e=b5d3fa173a), in occasione delle elezioni del 17 marzo i singoli corridori potranno votare individualmente oltre che tramite i propri rappresentanti nazionali e ovunque si trovino. Sarà obbligatorio però registrarsi come membri del CPA, aver scaricato l’app MyCpa e partecipare all’assemblea indetta nel giorno delle elezioni. L’assemblea si terrà sia in presenza che online, tutti i ciclisti e le cicliste membri dell’associazione riceveranno per tempo le informazioni necessarie per partecipare (per motivi organizzativi, se in forma remota è indispensabile registrarsi all’assemblea entro 48h prima dell’ora di inizio).
Il CPA è la prima associazione facente parte di una federazione a garantire la possibilità di esprimere il voto da remoto. «Nel corso delle ultime elezioni i corridori ci avevano chiesto di mettere in campo questa novità. Votare in modalità elettronica ha significato cambiare il nostro statuto, ripensare la nostra struttura interna garantendo la possibilità di voto ai singoli corridori e creare uno strumento, la nostra nuova app, che servisse allo scopo – conclude Gianni Bugno -. Non è stato un compito facile ma sono contento di aver rispettato l’impegno preso con i corridori e sono certo che il nostro sindacato ne uscirà ancora più forte».
