The Library of Congress is accepting applications for an Exhibits Specialist (Exhibit Director), GS-13, until December 8, 2022.
The Exhibit Director independently directs the development and facilitates the production of complex exhibitions and related programming for the Center for Exhibits and Interpretation. At this level, the Exhibit Director has the responsibility and decision-making authority for all aspects of planning and developing exhibitions and related programming. The Exhibit Director is responsible for presenting, through exhibitions, information that affords visitors the opportunity to develop an understanding of historical, political, social, and cultural issues and any controversies relating to those issues. The position demands the abilities to conceptualize an exhibition, to obtain a comprehensive knowledge of the subject presented, to shape an exhibition from primary and secondary research, to fuse the intellectual content with an aesthetic presentation, and to draw upon the expertise of individuals from within and outside of the Library in both the research and review phases of exhibition development.
