The Library of Congress is accepting applications for a Reader Registration Assistant, GS-05, until November 1, 2022.
This position is located in the Loan and Reader Registration Section, Researcher & Reference Services Division, General & International Collections Directorate, Researcher And Collections Services.
The incumbent serves as a Reader Registration Assistant on the Reader Registration Team of the Researcher and Reference Services Division. All researchers conducting research at the Library of Congress must first obtain a Library-Issued Reader Identification Card at the Reader Registration Station. The incumbent performs the full range of duties necessary to operate the Station and to assist researchers in obtaining the necessary card. Among the duties performed by the incumbent: greeting readers entering the station, disseminating information and necessary forms, and ensuring that the applicant is in possession of the necessary forms of identification; assisting applicants in using the on line registration system to input critical data; operating and maintaining the badging equipment which captures photo, signature and other information and issues the identification card.
