The Library of Congress is accepting applications for a Library Technician, GS-07, until September 22, 2022.
The Library Technician’s duties encompass all aspects of collection accessioning, maintenance, preservation and retrieval. The incumbent ensures accountability of receipts by timely check-in and/or inventory of each piece received in the Law Library. Incumbent also conducts physical inventory on existing collection items. Incumbent is responsible for sorting, arranging and shelving incoming materials; and the shifting, processing and updating of collection items. Incumbent works to preserve collection items through preparing materials for binding, microfilming or digitization and by masking holdings in the public catalog record displays. The incumbent’s duties include retrieving legal materials for Congress, the Supreme Court, public patrons and Library of Congress staff from the largest and most complex legal collection in the world in a prompt and efficient manner.
